Hurricane rebuild
im now settled on the black and gold, i have yet to see my mate, so no joy there yet on the price, my shock was finished thursday so didnt make it back for the weekend (doh!), buts it given me time to clean everything up ready to put back together on her rear, i have ordered a new bottom shock bush and bolts from csml, the new bolts will be used and the bush will be used on my spare relay arm.
i want to measure the bush up as i have found another source for these but i need to be exact on the size,i will fully re bearing the spare, i have found another needle bearing supplier in the uk, same with the seals. here`s the links if anyone is looking for bearings/seals
https://www.emmett-enterprises.com/i...&cPath=576_553 for the bearings
Metric Oil Seals for seals
so heres hoping everything gets here for next weekend

cheers for that, i cant wait to get back out on her, she`s not going to be a1 renovation as she will be used all weathers, but i like to know that everything is as it should be, hence the strip down and i should get alot more years out the old gal, i will measure up the bearings when i get to them and post up the sizes.

well me shock came back monday, looks like a good job done and all the adjusters click in and out, i ordred a few bits from csml but they cant ship till may, so i have ordered from partzilla (cheers for the link sprok) so im hoping it will all be here soon.
The spraying is now arranged with my mate who has done me a real favour on this so i owe him one, he drives a race car and i work in an aluminium stock holders (it comes in handy) so i can sort that out, so untill the bolts get here im back to finnish the pannels and tank ready for painting

got myself out to the shed for an hour last night, sanded down the seat unit and de-baged the headlight fairing, the new secondhand one is in good nick, just a few scratches, compared to the silver original that fell apart when i took it off, i have also taken the top shock bush and seals out ready for the new ones when they arrive (this week i hope) as the mrs is off out saturday and ive arranged a baby sitter so the night is mine in the shed

.
all going well the spraying is due for the beggining of may, fingers crossed she will be up and running by june

The rear shock looks almost as good as new!
I'm guessing they repainted the spring for you, what condition was the shock in when you sent it off, was it expensive?
I'm really can't wait to see the end product, you must be totally
You could probably sell the silver nose cone to get back some of your costs.

hi hawkwind, they didnt paint the shock, it wasnt to bad so i left it as it was, they would charge about £40-£50 for powder coating it and it would take about 2 weeks , they gave the rest of the shock a good clean and all the adjusters work, it was £99 for the rebuild plus postage both ways, so about £120 in all, there is only a couple of places in the uk that will do this type of showa.
Firefox Racing - Motorcycle parts & suspension specialists they done mine
and
Jaws Motorcycles and Motorcycle parts supplies who quote £120 but will rebuild to your weight and style of riding (got the link off here)
as for the nose cone i would sell it buts its in a bad way, the indicator surrounds are broke one ear has come off and it has repairs everywhere, i managed to get the new one cheap so if i bin the old one its not too bad.
im nearing the end now and cant wait to get back out on her

well im still wating for my bushes and bolts, they were shipped from the usa last friday 25th april and the last tracking i get is in miami to say its on its way to its destination, they have been sent usps and when in this country get picked up by parcel force, so im not sure where they are
so im getting grumpy (ask the wife ) because i cant get the back end back in.if any one knows how long it takes to get parts to the uk let me know (thanks)
the body work should go in next week (fingers crossed) so thats another job i dont have to do.
so im just left with 1. putting the back end in
2. service and fluids
3. carb balance
4. put her clothes back on
and then take her out for a very long ride "whoo hoo!"
