How many miles out of a full tank?
i just got this bike this week, and this is my first tank of gas in it.
Today I was going down the road, and had about 125 miles on this tank of gas. It started stuttering on me, and flipping it to reserve fixed the problem (i kinda coasted it in gear to run the fuel pump.) When i pulled over i can see gas on both sides of the tank, and when i tip the bike a little i can see gas flowing from one side to the other. if i really am almost out of gas, that means that i only got around 25 mpg and if not, it means i have a fuel delivery problem right? How many miles does everyone get out of a tank, and how big is the reserve on this bike?

Hi & Welcome...
You should get 40 to 50 MPG depending on how you ride.
I average 47 MPG and use the bike for sport 300 - 400 km rides in the country.
To help you get to know your bike better download these (from Clasic's server - Thanks Steve) ...
Just right click and save link or target as ... straight to your computer :-)

Thanks Martin..
Harris, don't trust what you can see in the tank by just looking or when she hits reserve ...
To work out how many miles to the gal you are getting or how low the tank actually was mate ....just watch how much it takes in Gals or Lts to top her up.... make sure you set the trip meter first when you want to take an accurate measurement ..
I must push mine a bit too hard ... I still cant get her over the 40MPG
but she is fun to ride ...
On a side note Martin ..."I think we have a problem Houston" ...
The link to Stu's , Starter damper "How too" is dead ...
Starter Damper Replacement
http://www.stu.co.nz/cbr1000fix/ and I never got to take a copy of it ...
That is a ripper how too ...!!
Hope he is ok ...??

why shouldnt i be trusting what i see in the tank? i am calculating my mileage right now, i just haven't filled it up again since i set the trip meter at my first fill. tomorrow morning when i do fill up i will know how good it is.
i just realized, i forgot to mention that because it has been sitting for a while the low speed/idle jet is a little clogged, so i am running it partly choked so that it can idle until i can disassemble and clean out the carbs. how much will this damage my MPG?

I'm averaging about 40+mpg and I have a very pessemistic fuel needle. I know I have more gas than what I show, but I'd just rather fuel up, take a pi$$, and get a drink. I'll take it! My Truck gets about 16..........
I guess to our good weather... i only choke in the cold or if she's being a b!@tch to start for no reason. Then she snaps back.
IF YOU HAVE TO HAVE A NUMBER I DON'T PUSH PASTABOUT 150mi CUX I'M OCD....
