How do I know if it's a 135bhp or 100bhp engine??
Hi fellas,
I'm in the marked for an CBR1000F 1994 model or newer (SC24).
I live in Norway, and these bikes where sold with 135 horsepower
here. In Germany and Switzerland these bikes only produced 100 bhp.
I know there was at least one number on the bike that would reveal
if the bike is a Swiss/German bike, but where do I find this number?
A picture would be helpful..

I think you're referring to rear wheel hp vs. hp measured at the crank - all CBRs made same hp as far as I know.

One (stupid) way of checking is top speed testing... It should be hard to get it past 240 km/h... Another way is removing one carb and check the inside of the rubber tube intake, the lower hp is from a restriction in the intake, should be fairly easy to spot.

I guess the restriction from 135 to 100 hp is removed on most bikes by now. The restriction was done by the intake rubbers, which have a smaller inner diameter on 100 hp engines. It is easy to carve them up to full diameter with a scalpel. One way to see if the bike is full power or not is to test the top speed. It should be about 255 km/h (GPS) on a unrestricted bike. I dont know the top speed for sure on restricted bikes but guess it must be close to 10% less.
