Default Honda CBR1000f 1987

Hey guys,
i have a problem, i just recently purchased an old Honda CBR1000f 1987 when i first got the bike it wouldn't start and just make a ticking noise,
however i replaced the battery and i properly earthed it and bingo it started right up, however the next day when i tried to start the bike nothing happened.
No ticking noise no nothing i made sure there were no blown fuses however they were all fine i am very confused about this and i am also very new to this community
so if anyone has any suggestions i would be delighted to hear them.

Is there still a charge in the battery?
It may have drained overnight, explaining why the old battery was no good.
Put a multi meter across the terminals and see what reading you get.

no, however i actually just checked the fuse box on the bike and one of the 10 amp fuses were blown so i replaced it,
and tried to start it however the new one broke as well so i am guessing there is some sort of a short in the electrics but not sure
can't wait to hear your guys feedback thanks.

Did the new fuse blow as soon as you put it in, or just when you tried to start the bike?

The wiring looms are old now so yes there is probably a bare wire touching the frame/an earth.

So the fault must be in the starter circuit.
