Hope you are all doing well. I have been away out of the country for a while so please excuse the lack of posts recently.

Just wanted to raise a question about build quality. My 1999 CBR1000F was superb in every respect, especially the build quality, and my previous Hondas were the same. A friend has bought a 2007 Blackbird with only a few thousand miles on it, and has had several problems, not least needing a new centrestand, a warped sub-frame and mirrors that have allowed water to get into them. He would not believe my old Hondas were better built!!

 

Never heard any complaints about the build quality of the 'Blackbird', maybe it's a problem , or maybe he's just unlucky and got a 'bad' one?

Might be interesting to ask the guys on the 1100XX section?

Yep, I agree... I've never heard any of those complaints before.
Like shadow said, these could be problems associated with a drop. Aftermarket mirrors, maybe?
What exactly was wrong with the centerstand?

Usually, hondas (even the newer ones) are associated with top-notch build quality. Not that it's not possible to get a bad one, but I don't think that's the norm at Honda...
