Default Hi, everyone, new member here. Tyres

I have just taken my x ply standard tyres, tires off one of my mark 1 canes and replaced them with 1 size up pilot road 3's (radials). They fit like a glove with no alterations to anything and although I have only done 20miles on them everything feels so much better. I will keep you all posted on the final result.
Changed from 110/80 to 120/70 on the front and from 140/80 to 150/70 on the rear. The ride is like floating on air compared with the old ones and these are supposed to be good in the wet as well.

I did the same thing to my 1987. You can sueeze a 160 on the back but the profile is all wrong. I'm running the 150 now and am very happy.

+1,120 front and stuck with a 150 rear on my 87 thanks to PMCG's recommendation
about larger tires 160 + forcing the profile too much & I went with a super cheap deal
Conti Motions ($159.. 2 tires shipped)

had them well past the ton and in the twisties and in drenching rain - they did well and
wear all that too.

Here's the 160 mounted. you can see it would have almost no tire/road contact when you leaned it over.

Yes I am using the original jelly mould mudguard with no problems, I haven't had time to run them in properly yet but everything seems better.
