Welcome to the Forum ! Yoshimura pipes aren't cheap - why not ride it awhile before you start making changes to improve the performance ? The pipe alone will only make a REAL difference when combined with correct jetting, air filters etc etc, all of which can get expensive....You can't just bung on a pipe and expect things to change radically, and you may damage the engine..[X(]
What other bikes have you owned up to now ?
You may be surprised at how quick these bikes are without mods......they didn't call them "ballistic sofas" for nothing.......
(I wish I had an uncle who'd give me a 96 model) he he

Hey, Idodirt, isn't he from your part of the world ?

I don't think Yoshi make systems for the 1000F. What you could do is to buy a Yoshi slip-on and adapt it to the stock down pipes. If you cut away the T-crossing at the end and make a smooth transition to the Yoshi mid pipe I believe you will have a great performing system for a low cost. Especially if you buy a used slip-on.

As said above, keep an eye on the air-to-fuel ratio after mod. Vacuum carbs are quite forgiving though, so you should only need to shim up each throttle needle with a M3 flatwasher. The bike is overjetted stock, so the existing main jets will normallybe fine with a new system.

Shadow1 , why yes he is. Or at least about 3 hours north of me. It's nice to see another 1000F around. I think I've only seen 1 other. Congratulations on your new gift there Honda#1. Good luck and be safe.

All you have to do is ask - don't worry that we'll think you're dumb, we've all been where you are ( Oh so LONG ago) he he
This is a great place for swopping information, helping a friend, and generally having a good time.
