Did you try this? I was thinking about doing the same thing, does it work?
I can't see spending $100+ for the genmars if this will accomplish the same thing.

mtbrewer, yeah I did try it, and it did work fine. Just make sure you torque everything down and don't raise the bars too much. I went about 3/4" figuring that if the genmars give you that much rise it should be safe.However, while 3/4" rise helped, it still didn't give me the rise I wanted, so subsequently I bought some telefix clipons off ebay and installed them, as shown above, so now everything is sweet.

Well I took your advice and I raised them up 3/4 of an inch last night.
It does make a difference, though I'm not sure it's enough to warrant the money for the Genmars.
It feels different, going to take some getting used to.
I am a bit nervous about not having the locking pin engaged but then I guess that's why
you buy the Genmars. I torqued down the clip-ons pretty tight and will keep an eye on them.
