Default Head Removal

Hi all. I am about to pull the head and barrel off my 90 model 1000f. Question, do I have to pull the motor or can I do it with the motor in place. Really don’t want to drop the motor.

thanks all.

it can be done, but you have to remove lots of stuff. Once you're able to remove head, you're only 5-minutes from pulling entire engine anyway. Is LOTs easier and faster to drop engine...
