Default Has anyone updated forks on a CBR1000F?

I rebuilt the forks on my '88 a few years ago and have had good service. Problem is, they don't hold air pressure very long.
Has anyone swapped forks from a later model bike onto an older bike like this?

If memory serves, you'd have to replace the entire front end, as the fork tubes are a different diameter to later models.
Check the manual for specs - I could be wrong on this............

Thanks for the link.
I don't at all mind swapping out front ends. I also am comfortable with machining out my triple trees for larger tubes, there is enough meat there to go up a few mm.

If they are not leaking oil the fault is in the top cap o'ring or valve. When changing the forks to a later model you need to check the lengths. I have two 88cbrs the jap import has 20mm shorter forks and turns faster

Thanks for the info. I've suspected the seals at the slider, but there is no oil loss. I have nice tight gasketed valve stem caps on the valves. Will look at the top O rings

If you are going to re-build the forks again I would look at pissing off the STD internals.

Because its an early model it uses Rod forks. So look at doing a Racetech Cartridge Conversion.
