I have the same problem and thought it was a normal thing where you pull the clutch lever and the neutral light comes on. It does not bother me - do I have to fix it if I don't care. Will my bike explode, etc, etc lol!

i would replace the diode as you can never be sure that you have the bike in neutral!
it cost me £11.80, and its just plug in.

Never rely on safety switches, but yes, probably should fix, to do winter list.

 

Ok you guys have convinced me to fix it. I think the neutral light does come on when it actually is in neutral, will have to check that out too. She's all apart anyway, cleaning the carbs...

the neutral light is not a safety switch!
its an indicator ie, indicating that you are in neutral.

 

Sorry, never rely on indicator lights then.
