AND...very little time to do it.

I was going to e-bay my old coils but don't want to stick someone with them because the stick coils are far better.

Slow starter when hot is probably the starter damper............................
I'd put money on it.
Sad but true.
Been there....................have T shirt...............

Check your charging rate - 3000RPM = 13.5V +-
Only other thing it could be is the stator.
But I doubt it.

Thanks Shadow. I think charging rate is OK but will test again. Have just done CCT replacement (after worrying for ages that I couldn't) so am feeling like I could prob do the damper too. It's just a matter of cost... maybe I'll try the 'washer' mod.
