I want to get a set of Vibranator bar ends for my '93. Can anyone tell me how to remove the guts of the bar that the original bar end screws into. The parts are shown in the fiche but there is nothing in the service manual on how to fit/remove. I only have to do the throttle side as the clutch side is already missing(last owner).... If I ever sell her I could advertise it as; 1 careful owner, but can't say the same for the other 6 owners though

 

They are pressure fit into the bar ends, so drilling them out is the only way I've heard to remove them. Just start around the outside edge drilling as close together as possible around the circumference, till they fall out. Something around a 3/16th" drill bit is probably the most efficent for the task.

Take the throttle tube off and you'll see a little hole in the underside of the bar. This gives access to a little spring clip that holds the internal bar weight in. Insert the screw that hols the weight into the end of the internal weight, push on the clip and withdraw the weight. Its actually not to much hassle once you know what you're supposed to do.
No drilling required.
A good squirt of WD40 before you commence battle should help to ease things along.
Good luck, though you shouldn't really need much.

Thanks guys, I noticed on the vibranator web site when u order ones to suit cbr, vfr and a couple others that u get a special tool with the weights to help removal of the internal fittings. I read a few other threads where t looks like most people go with the drill out method, so thanks for the easyway tip!

I was puzzled that the internal parts were loose with the bar end off, spring clip explains why. Good info.
