Default Handlebar end weights

Hi,

My CBR1000F has these cheap alloy bar ends fitted.

On the ride back home at certain speeds and revs i noticed a buzzing vibration through the handlebars. Would these light aftermarket bar ends be causing this and would fitting heavier bar end weights like the original ones smooth this vibration out?

Cheers

I would bet. I installed vfr bars on mine and the weights were mounted differently I believe, anyway I rode the bike with out them and at certain rpms the bars buzzed bad, installed heavy (stock )bar ends, gone.

I ended up using the Vibranator brand tuned bar weights, fixed the excessive buzzing on my 1000f. They are quite expensive though.

Cheers for the input - i think i will replace the current ones with heavier original (or similar) weight in the not too distant future and see if that smooths things out.

youbarred: on my old '95 model i had alloy aftermarket bar ends and didn't notice any vibration either......

I just put some heavy bar end weights on my Blackbird. I got then from JAWS in England who does Blackbird aftermarket parts. I'm going to get a set for the 1000F as well.

Jaws Motorcycles and Motorcycle parts supplys for the Blackbird

Thanks for the tip, from what i've seen a lot of oem honda bar ends look similar eg: blackbird, vfr, vtr etc.

I will look into ordering a set - interesting to see that jaws also do the longer "extra heavy" bar ends.

I did the balancer shaft adjustment the other day and that seems to have sorted the vibration a lot compared to what it was but will still get heavier bar ends at some stage like the bike was meant to have.
