Had a question about my neutral switch
Hello all.
I own a 1995 CBR1000F. I came here to see if anyone had any trouble with their neutral switch not activating. Mine wouldn't activate when I took it out of gear, which is kind of a pain when you don't want to sit on your bike to warm it up. Also just generally annoying to know your stuff doesn't work.
Well, I decided that before i posted, I would tear it apart. Turns out that those little bastard mice had their way with my wires over the winter. Chewed through the neutral switch wire and the oil pressure switch wire.
Apparently, they have no respect for my bike whatsoever, and I will be annihilating every last one of them.....probably by means of a flame thrower.
Glad it's all fixed now, though, and the best part is that it only took 35mins, a cord off my fiancee's lamp, and a couple pieces of heat shrink.
Sooo...if you're having electrical problems after a winter storage, check your wires.
Also check your pipes for nests. Not my problem this time, but a buddy of mine's. He now covers the tips during cold weather. I won't cover mine, as I would rather burn the little rats, and their babies, in a hot cloud of carbon monoxide no matter what the cost.
Anyway, glad I came by.....very nice site.
Take care, and ride safe.

RE: Had a question about my neutral switch
Thanks.
Yeah, it's all out war now. You don't mess with my bike.
About a month ago, I went out to my garage and saw a rat. I've never seen one in my garage, ever, so I chased it with a hammer. I missed as it went into a hole.
So I set up these huge rat glue traps and a bunch of mouse traps. I came back the next day, and the glue traps were gone, and all the mosetraps were set off and the bait was gone. I found one glue trap in the ceiling stuck to the insulation, and the other was behind my workbench. Then I got angry.
I set my lightweight Estwing hammer by the inside of the door for quick access, so I could just flip on the light and grab it.
Sure enough, the very next evening, I saw it again. I chased it down and clobbered it's ***.
Then this.... it's war......

RE: Had a question about my neutral switch
That's great.
I should print that and put it up in my garage.
My sister bought me one of those calenders this year for Christmas. Very funny stuff.
Missed that one, though. Hilarious.
March on mine is: "Consistency"- It's only a virtue if you're not a screw-up.
April: "Get to Work"- You aren't being paid to believe in the power of your dreams.
Rode again today, by the way. Bike's running great. Sunny all day- High of 74F. Beautiful.
