H I D installed - Need some Help on adjustments
Hi All
Just installed a set of Xenon 6000k H I D Lamps.... very nice and bright. I have a problem.... I think I am pissing some folks off as the lamps are a bit high. I need to adjust them lower to shine more downwards. I think I see the knop/grears for adjusting the lamp angles (see diagram below) but it is very hard to turn....... does anybody know if we need a special tool for it? Has anybody done it before? I fitted both sides with the HID bulbs are they both angled differently?
Before
After
Cheers
BTW A Big THANK YOU for all of you who voted for me on the February ROTM. I guess second place is not too bad.... Maybe next time

RE: H I D installed - Need some Help on adjustments
Madkawa,
On mine there are two extentions that come off of those gears and end up as plastic screws just under the upper fairing. Yours must be missing. I'll try and find a fiche diagram of what I'm talking about.
EDIT:
Here you go, looks like yours are missing.

Hey madkawa, in your first photo, directly under the arrow pointing to the adjustment gear is the white **** you can turn. You access it via the oil cooler deflector. Should be one on the other side for the other bulb. You can turn it by hand (hard to do) or use a cross-head screw driver

- I think you are right, that tube looking assembly seems to be missing probably from previous owner... damm!.. That gear looking piece where my arrow is pointing is very hard to turn but I will try malbojah advice and use a cros head screw driver.
malbojah - I'll try and look for that ****... like Mdfirefighter said , it looks like its missing. maybe looking at the wrong place
cr cbr - I don't think they have a brand name and they are made in China but they are cheap. A friend of mine (also a rider) is an auto electrician and reccomended this as he said he has installed many units with no problems and customers seemed satisfied . He gave me at cost.
I went out riding last night and this is a shot - Awesomely BRIGHT! literaly lited up the whole street!

Very nice Madkawa!!! How much did you pay for the kit of HID bulbs? Did you have to modify something on the bike to fit the bulbs or is it a direct swap? In Sweden it´s not legal with HID bulbs unless you have an automatic adjustment motor to adjust the hight of the light beam, so if I fit an HID kit I need to be able to replace it with standard bulbs fairly easy, before I have to do the annual Vehicle Security Test.
