Default GAS TANK LEAKING

I've picked up a leak somewhere under the plate on the underside of the tank, where it bolts onto the frame up front. Tried using Q-Bond, but still leaking, and I can't locate the exact spot.
Found this link in the tech section:
http://www.kbs-coatings.com/KBS-Cycl...1-reviews.html
Has anyone used it to seal a leak ? My tank is spotless - no rust
Does anyone have any alternative product I can use ?
Any advice would be welcome, thanks.

Hey Pete, this add looks great. I think I'll try it next week. It is odd that you posted this today. The front seam on my 90 CBR1000F started leaking last week. It has never done this before. I just find it strange that yours and mine started leaking around the same time and they are both 1990 models.

Never expected to help anyone with this post, but there you go. Funny old world.....
Don't let your leak stay too long, or it could run down onto the edge of your tappet cover, and dissolve the sealant and you'll have leaking fuel, AND oil.....[:@]like me.
Funny thing, mine doesn't leak when it's upright on the padock stand, just on the sidestand - a real pain in the a$$...!! Must mean the leak's up top as suspected.

Had to change my tank last month for the same reason, the last owner had tried to stop the leak with an internal sealant but this had started to peel and breakdown clogging the filters and carbs and gumming up one of the valves. ( be warned)
A new Honda tank in the right colours cost about £170 GBP from David Silver

Hey Shadow - sorry to hear of this - must be very frustrating - good luck with the repair - let us all know how you go to add to the body of knowledge.

(What the hell did you do to our guys in the Rugby????)

Shadow, I just sealed the tank on my Honda CT90 about a month ago. Same deal. It was leaking out of a seam. Stuff I used worked great. It was left over from a gallon that I bought to seal the tank of my 64 Falcon about 10 years ago. It is called Red Kote fuel tank liner. Damon Industries. http://www.damonq.com/TechSheets/Red-Kote.pdf
This stuff works. You should be able to get by with a quart. Just follow the directions and don't rush it. The Falcon is still running and no problems with the fule tank.
