There was a bike shop within easy (5 min) walking distance from my house I took my old GPz900R to, to have a new exhaust fitted, and their "mechanic" didn't bother reconnecting the hoses to the water pump properly - ten minutes and a few miles later, I'd dumped all the coolant down the back tire. After they fixed the mistake, it was the last time I ever set foot in there, and I told them why...

Good luck finding a better place to look after your bike, Hojen!

Dave.
Thanks Dave, that could have gone very bad with your tire and slippery coolant

Well I'm still a novice regarding bike repairs but if it wasn't the seals I imagined
there could be something wrong with the tubes, legs or whatever involved with the forks.
I even looked after spare fork tubes on E-bay just in case.. So in the end I was so
relieved and happythat it wasn't anything worse than the seals

Best is if you can look after your bike yourself, think we have learned that if nothing else..

As you say it could've worked out a lot worse!

Glad it was all good in the end Hojen.

I have seen on other forums a "Name and Shame" list as well as recommended repairers - food for thought?

Cheers, SB

BUT THEY STILL LET YOU RIDE IT AWAY, KNOWING IT WAS LEAKING???? Poor workmanship. Oil on a tire is deadly.

Thanks SB, good thought.

Of course you're right TBT, I got an excuse for that too as you may imagine. The owner told me he never would
have let me ride off on the bike if he had known it leaked that much, it was one of his employees who worked
on the bike. Then he blamed stress and that they had soo many bikes in the shop and sooo much to do.. yeah..

Well I've learned a great deal out of this, one thing is, always recheck a job done by someone else.

Btw, TBT if you quote me, please quote me correctly and don't mix with
my text, thanks.
