damn i missed this thread i could have given u good advice wd for having a go, never thought of the Utube watching thing, i found the hardest part was getting the new oil into the tube, the first time i did it i put the fork in the triple clamps and it was a mission from hell, unfortunatly i have pitting on one of my fork tubes and have to replace the seal every six months as i cant be arsed finding a scond hand tube or paying £100 for a new fork, im still however looking for a LH middle faring in red/white if anyone can help

dont know if I am allowed to link to this - so sorry and please remove if not allowed

take a look here http://www.drivenandridden.com/

They sell their dvds really cheap and they even have one for the UK MOT - they also have a good selection of their vids on youtube for you to sample http://www.youtube.com/user/DrivenandRidden?ob=1

I was really impressed and intend to collect them all - I have just had the MOT / Wash You bike/ Winterize your bike deliverd - it is their most expensive one at £10 the others cost £6

I have no connection with them BTW - other than being very pleased

Shadow - The ride back from the test center was just amazing - I went the "Pretty way" as I will not have tax until the post office opens tomorrow I am only allowed to ride to and from the test center *cough* got lost though and took 40 miles

Before the work I used to get a slight vibration that would turn into a bit of a tank slap if I took my hands off- she is now as steady as a rock with no vibration or wobble - also the felt a LOT more confident in my riding KNOWING that every bolt/nut has been torqued up to spec (Havent had a bike for 12 years(ish) before my recent return so have been a little "Timid" )

Hi Harry_T_Hamster, I missed your thread but if you need a hand in future - I'm only in Preston and I work in Hindley Green.

Mine is also a 1991 FL model.

jb - try ALL BIKE ENGINEERING. They manufacture fork tubes for the CBR1000F.

I know a guy who used a set from them - very well made with hard industrial chrome finish.

About £80 each if I remember correctly.

They also do discs for the CBR1000F - standard or wave type

seriousley I was just looking for a large syringe lol - sorry I have had WAY too much sugar tonight - apart from the price that ^ would be ideal though

Deano - thanks for the offer mate - you may regret it likewise if you need somewhere warm and dry to work on your bike give me a shout - I have no expertise but I do have a heated garage

I've bought stuff from David Silver's myself JB - good reliable people.
100 pounds seems a good price for a complete assembly .......
