If the frontfork hasn't been opened, cleaned and got new oil for several years, that should beconsidered now. The fork seals are cheap, so they should be replacedany timethe fork is maintained. To avoid fork bottoming, the fork oil level could be raised to, which is covered in other threads in this forum.
It could also be a good idea to check the free sag and rider sag since thisis important for good chassie performance. The bike may have been set up for a heavier or lighter rider than you, which is no good. See http://www.sportrider.com/tech/suspension/
