Default First CBR 1000F

My first bike feels great to drive the CBR 1000 F im taking my driving lience in sweden in march/april see how that goes i think i got a good bike 1987 for £2000 .

Welcome to another Swede !Did you pay the equivalent of2000 dollars ($)or pound (£) ? In case its 2000 dollars it appears to be very cheap, 2000 pound would be on the high side.

Welcome to the forum. I am not quite old member here, but I am so glad to know another 87-88 model owner. I have 87 Hurricane.

im just in the middle of changing brake pads front both pairs brake and cluch fluid motor oil oil filter air filter ,checked chain and drive spark plugs changed is there anything else i need to think about .

You could consider checking the valve clearances and replace the coolant if you are doing a full service.

If the frontfork hasn't been opened, cleaned and got new oil for several years, that should beconsidered now. The fork seals are cheap, so they should be replacedany timethe fork is maintained. To avoid fork bottoming, the fork oil level could be raised to, which is covered in other threads in this forum.

It could also be a good idea to check the free sag and rider sag since thisis important for good chassie performance. The bike may have been set up for a heavier or lighter rider than you, which is no good. See http://www.sportrider.com/tech/suspension/
