Anyone ridden one?

I've always admired them, right back from 1997 when I bought a brand new Suzuki TL1000s.

A group of us were, ahem..........pushing the limits of speed, stupidity and mortality on some gently curving backroads in New South Wales.

I had the TL doing north of 270km/h on the speedo, tucked in tight behind the fairing and.........this bloody ZZR1100 steams past me like I'm standing still, kicking up little stones like bullets.

Fantastic bike straight out of the box.

Of course, I've matured a lot since then. :D

Cheers, SB

Yeah, as if :icon_laugh:

I too have admired the Kwackasaki from afar, in fact it was touch and go between the 1000F and a Kawa, but the 1000f won in the end.

I saw quite a few with engine issues, which put me off a little bit, I'd still like one though.

Good ones are getting harder to find now.

I'm with you Hawk, my ears always prick up when I hear of one for sale.

Though I have (self induced) promised Mrs SB 2.0 I will sell a few bikes in 2018 :icon_denk: :icon_laugh:

The ZZR1100, a good TRX850 and my Holy Grail - a 1973 Benelli Tornado are still on the list (among others).

As I point out to others, the correct number of motorcycles a person should own is n+1, where n is the current number you have :D

Cheers, SB

n+1 works for beer also SB. TRX850 haven't heard of it 'til now. 270° must sound nice.

My younger brother had a ZZR1100 and sold it due to getting in trouble a bunch. Way to fast. The last time he was ticketed, the policeman told him he was doing just fine but all of a sudden he rocketed to 30 over. My brother admitted that, that was normal. The power is so smooth and strong, if not 100% watching speed, you will find yourself way over the posted limit.

One time, I had the 1kF in the upper region way out in front until he opened it up and went by me like a rocket.

I have ridden it, smooth and powerful. However, not as finished as a Honda. My brother was always burning the back of his legs on the pipe before the can.

I lusted after one in 93, near got one new but ended up with a XR600 instead(I was living in Mt Isa at the time, desert country).
Get one if you can, I would.

Hiya Jarvis.
I know Mt ISA, mining town, went through it on the way to Barkley Crossing. Real out back country. As for Mt ISA, go in a pub there and end up in a brawl!

I lived at the Barkly Hotel in Isa for 8 months, I think I had a good time, never got into a brawl but watched a few,
