Exhaust needed

Morning all. I have a CBR 1000 FS in near mint condition with only 24,400 miles on the clock. Just passed it’s MOT but will need a new exhaust system at some point. Struggling to find anything. May need to go down the custom made route. Anyone have any ideas?
I’m in Somerset

thanks in advance

A little update

Thought you would like to know I’ve managed to source and purchase a set of brand new genuine Honda down pipes. Fortunately the cans are only slightly corroded and in serviceable condition. So pleased that I’ve been able to keep it stock.

That's a result, have you considered any treatment options for the down pipes to protect them from our delightful UK weather and the dreaded salt as I presume that they are still mild steel?

No I didn’t bother. It covers so few miles 300-400 a year and mostly dry. It’s just a nice little toy for sunny days 😀

Well cool, glad it worked out in the end. Since you only ride it a little, getting them ceramic coated can be done in less than a week. Just sayin...

@Adrian Walker Now wait a minute here. You're saying that the bike has 24,000 "miles" on it. Is it a US market bike, or are you just converting to miles for our sake? Is it really 24,000 Kilometers.?

Adrian Walker Mar 21, 2021 09:41 AM

No it’s 24000 miles. I’m in the uk we use miles like you guys 😀 unlike the rest of Europe

Al1040 Mar 21, 2021 11:08 AM

We also use gallons, but ours are imperial unlike yours.1 gallon for us is about 1.2 of yours.
They like to think that we have gone fully metric, but not so much!

What, I'm not saying that I don't believe you, but, well, I don't believe you. You don't use meters and kilometers in the UK? I'm thinking that we're going to need some collaboration here... LOL

It's been under way since the 1970s but has been very patchy. The Statute Mile is still the only legal unit for roads in the UK; Network Rail still uses miles and chains (1ch = 22yds) for distances along railways; beer may still be dispensed in "pubs" in pints and half-pints. Many people stick to feet and inches or pounds and ounces (especially if cooking using older recipe-books).
Our Speedo's are still in Miles and MPH
