Cool

Be super careful when removing the needles.
Some gauges don't handle the pulling well, it will FUBAR the gauge accuracy.
I strongly suggest, if you have never done one before, get a spare to practice and still there are no guaranties it will work.
If money not a problem, send them to a speedometer shop.

Deffy will not recommend blue lights on gauges, I converted my first car's (ke 70 Corolla) gauge lights to blue LED:s and they wore my eyes out much faster than green when driving in dark. There's a reason the most common color for the gauges is green, I've driven a newish corolla twice in the dark, it had white gauge lights and they started hurting my eyes pretty quick.

Nevertheless that pic does look pretty cool.

Hi,

I had my other bikes dials done a few months ago. We changed the lighting to red smd led around each dial so it give a 'warm' light to each one.

If your existing dials are dark/black make sure you sand them back and use high quality paper for the overlays.

Good luck

Hear you about the blue Mattson , I was thinking of adding a dimmer
in though

Do have a spare to try it out on too Red, and Bug's the kit comes with
the overlays but need to smooth things down is a good tip thanks.

Be nice if they had them in that Ferrari Yellow Gauge color though eh ?

Must ask

There are all colours available for the gauge clusters - e Bay.de - not too expensive and look well made.
I've tried white gauges and they aren't good for night vision - kind of reduces your ability to see the road after looking at them.
I like my old red bulbs..........................
There's a special tool for removing needles on gauge clusters..............or if you're brave, hold the spindle with a pair of needle nose pliers and tap the needle up with another pair of pliers........worked for me.

I really liked the gauges of my first bike to be regarded as a motorcycle, an '89 Honda NS125R. The gauges were white at daytime but when it was dark the lighting made them dark grey. Wonder why they didn't use them in any of the CBR:s...

I don't know how much the special tool costs, but here's what i've used for removing needles on several sets of gauges: a dinner fork. =) Works perfectly every time (it applies even force from directly under the needle so you don't bend or break anything) and you already have one! FYI though- sometimes you have to slightly separate the middle tongs a tiny bit, depending on your style of fork.

I was looking at those gauge faces last fall, specifically this one:

Honda CBR 1000 F Gauge Faces | eBay

and decided i rather enjoy the current red/orange look at night on my '91 too much to change it. They do look really cool, though!
