Cowling Project is going on!!

RE: Cowling Project is going on!!
Thanks MDFF, but I can't show you close up. Since I didn't wait long enough to buff up, top cowling got a couple spots that paint came off. Do you see the spot near the right mirror base? Primer color show... And, I am hesitating to paint side covers, rear cowling, and belly pan, coz those paints are nothing wrong. However, both charcoal and silver paints that I used is totally different colors form original, so eventually I need to paint them all. BUT, IT'S TOO COLD...You see the kerosene heater right? Actually it is too dangerous to paint while I am using this.

I've worked in the plastic injection business for the last 18yrs and one of the best products is: Power Poxy plastic bonder. This stuff is incredible on just about all types of plastic,ie vinyl, polyethylene, polycarbonate(Lexan), and polypropylene. Give it a try next time.

[align=left]I did the same thing! When I bought my 87 1kf , the cowl had the same fracture. I purchased the fiberglass repair kit from autozone. Cost me a bit more than 6 bucks but got similar results. Super strong. When I went to prime it I used a black auto primer. I liked the look so much I decided to do my entire bike in flat black with a flat clear coat (Yes, they make a flat clear coat! It's generaly used for camo.) Still in the process of sanding will put pics up soon.
