Default correct spark plug for the 94 cbr1000f

I stopped at a motorcycle shop to get new plugs and the guy tells me that the manufacturer (Honda) recommends a DRP8EA spark plug. I buy them and install them. I get home and double check his info and find that the service manual calls for a DRP8EA plug.... Will this affect the way the bike runs? I do plan on adding some aftermarket slip-ons soon. Should I get the RIGHT plugs and switch them out??? Thanks, Eric. Is a #8 "hotter" than a # 9 or is it the other way around??

#8 is hotter than #9, i.e. it keeps itself cleaner by burning off deposits better during normal driving. You should go by the Honda recommendation. I've been using #8 also duringtrack dayswith hard driving during hot conditions without problems. The#9 plugsmay be a temporary alternative if you are doing long distance high speed driving on high revs.

Edit, NGK recommends #9 plugs on their site so that can't be wrong [] #9 will foul easier than #8 though.

OK. The Hurricane uses NGK DPR9EA-9 spark plugs. The middle number means how the plug do leadsheat away. To low number may cause overheat with pre-ignitioning, and if extremely unlucky melt the plug with major damage as a result. I do not think the DPR8EA-9 plug will do that for normal use. I have used it some time earlier in life on my Hurricane when I could nog find any 9 plugs. But for racing or extreme road use you might want to use the 9 plug to be sure.
The NGK plug marking means as follows:
D=Thread 12mm (18mm tool)
P=The insulator is projected
R=Resistor (so it will not interfear with the radios and TVs around)
9=Heat transfer number
E=19mm long
A=Special design
-9=0,9mm gap
