CORBIN SEAT?
Hey everyone! New to the site just picked up an 1989 silver hurricane..... (CHERRY)! I'm trying to piece together some good aftermarket parts and came across this Corbin seat on ebay.....
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...&viewitem=
Is this a good deal or not worth it? Any help would be greatly appreciated because If its a steal I'm definately going to buy it!
Thanks, Joe.

$300 for that seat, is a little too high for me.
I sent mine to Sargent (they use your base frame)and had them recover it withhigh density foam and different insert (you can customized) and it was like $210.
Return time was 3 weeks and the fit an finish is flawless.
That Corbin seat appears to use a different base frame, so I wouldlike to see how it looks after is mounted on the bike.
Here check it out:

Hiyu Joe ..and welcome aboard firstly mate
Those seats are worth quite a bit more than that usually , but in my personal opinion, they are good but not worth the money .. (unless you have heaps of cash to splash )?
I prefer cbrthundermaster's option ....getting them re done can cost very little if yoiu go to someone that knows what they are doing ?
I had mine just recovered for $30.00 I am sure a new better insert would not have been too extra on top of that if I had chosen to go for it..
but like I said ...if you have the spare cash ...Corbin are good ...no doubt about that ..

$225 US is a great price. I love my Corbin. I can ride much much futher with it than the old stock saddle.
The only draw back with that model is that it would not be fun for two up riding. If you are going solo, that is a great deal. If you ride two up you should consider the Sargent option.

The problem is, that is not $225.
The price is $250 + $50 for S&H = $300

I also went with the Corbin just incase I did not like it because you keep your factory seat. cbrthundermaster can sell his factory saddle and get some money back if he chooses. Once Sargent cuts the saddle cbrthundermaster will have to live with it. I am by no means knocking Sargent. They offer a great product and I may use then on a bike down the road. I am only trying to bring up some key points to help cbrthundermaster makea decision.

I understand, but you customize how much or little is done to your seat.
They have a form, that you fill out with them over the phone, so no hidden price or surprises for what you want.
I could have made minefor less, about $125, butI chose better density foam and different cover with inserts.
Your friends $500 + seat, must have had every option on the price list.
Anyways, I have no horse in this race.
It's good thatcbrthunder gets all points of views, so he can do some more leg work and research onwhat he wants.

Look up Corbin in the search options - plenty there.
I don't have a horse either, but from what I've read the Corbin gunfighter and lady seat is the way to go.
They often come up on e-Bay, all over the world.
