Default CCT replacement in Bedfordshire

Hi guy`s
i have had to lay up my poor old 95 cbr1000f as i`m scarred its going die,
it sounds awful and its has been getting progressively louder for a longer period of time and it now takes a good 15-20 minutes before the cam chain starts to quieten up
Can anyone please recommend someone who can replace the tensioner who is near to the bedfordshire area who could maybe do it for less than £300 as thats what honda want

thanks for any info Rick

Hi Rick, many members on here have replaced the tensioner and chain themselves, there is a how to and I'm sure help and advise will be provided from the group.

Does the £300 from Honda include all the parts and changing the tensioner and chain? Would have thought they would be asking for more, seems like not a bad price if it includes both.

I'm afraid I don't know the Bedford area, so can't help with bike shops, but it would be a good idea to ring around any of them, just to compare price with the Honda garage.

Thanks for your reply Hawkwind but they want £200 for just the tensioner and quoted 2hrs to do the job although they said it could take 3hrs at £60 per hour
and no that doesn't include new guides or a chain
whilst i can turn a spanner or two i'm not up for this job so if any members that are near would take it on please contact me
