Stu,
Welcome to CBRF!

If I were you, I wouldn't change the swingarm. All you could really do is go longer, and then you're gonna jeopardize handling and I don't think you want to do that on this bike.

The stock swingarm is made for this bike. It's a great fit. I wouldn't screw with that. Some other things, sure, but I probably wouldn't mess with the rear end.

Just my opinion, though....

That just looks like the OEM swingarm that has been lengthened.

The only thing i have seen done is to add bracing to the OEM swing arm to make it look different.

I wonder how it would look with a VFR single sided swing arm???

I've seen a few Fireblades with it done..

I love the look of the single sided swingarm like the VFR mod.
I've seen others do it, too.

Maybe a little bit of work, but it looks awesome, imo.

Like the new CB1000. Have you seen that? It was featured in either Motorcyclist or Cycle World this month. I think it looks cool as hell.

I've seen the stock one chromed and that ad talks about a black powder coat. Both could improve the look, depending on what else you do. The brushed finish is tough to keep clean, so I know what you mean. I'd probably go gloss black to make it easy to clean and essentially disappear.
