Default CBR1000F-J Footpeg Query

Hi Folks

I've seen these ADJUSTABLE FOOTPEGS on Fleabay, they state CBR1000F year 1991 onwards, looking at the photos I can't see why they won't fit my 1989 F-J, could anyone advise please??

Cheers Steve

They will fit Steve. The Mark 2 CBR1KF went from 1989 to 1992, then the Mark 3 1993 to 1998/9 So the advert covers the last 2 iterations of the Hurricane. As far as I can see there is no difference between the Mark 2 and Mark 3 footpegs and mounts.

And if there is - there is always the grinder

personally wouldn't go pegs only, just through pure laziness, as i'd have to adjust selector heights and brake lever and spacers and blah! blah!,,,#
and i know there is wee threaded bits on the levers, but are they enough?
and what happens when they touch down on a corner?

just my thoughts

Good point Ken. Though they would still pivot to some extent with the rubber mounting on the frame bracket??

Personally, not my cup of tea. If you're looking to lower Steve, isn't there a Goldwing footpeg mod?

To be honest I've been weighing up getting a set in black , I have buells on the
93 at the moment - all metal with the scrapers off - and for me they are good had
to adjust the shifter one spline for height adjustment.

Since these are relatively new on ebay - im doing the usual and waiting until
they cheapen up a bit

Hey:

Steve's 89 is a MK1, all the pegs are the same, MK1s have rear mounts, MK2/3 have the same mounts/ that are further FWD. Round pegs suck for long distance but are ok for short runs. Had the round ones on my MMCBX, after a couple of hours they tend to dig into your boots. A Buell peg mod would probally be better. But back then I was up to 165 kgs + (26 Stone) with a size 13/14 shoe so that may have some impact on it.
