I replaced mine about a year ago. The idiot that had the bike before me put in a globe that had 100 as a high beam. To me that's an easy way to fry the switch or relay or just overheat the wiring (speaking from experience ). I replaced it with a standard 55/60.
According to the manual the "K" model had a 45/45. All others had 55/60.
I've also read posts that a special globe is needed as the standard car one doesn't fit. Mine (87) uses a car globe??

Hey Tiger.
I checked with a honda shop, they said dont use a 60/55 on mine, the Alternator wont cope with it.So i will change both to 45/45 as it is now.
Stupid thing is i have to now put it all back together ,to ride it,get the correct globes,re strip it to change globes etc.........FFS!!!

Good ridance to 2009.......................

Dont forget the earlier 1000F only had one globe............

The manual quotes UK/US models as different ,one for the 60/55 the other the 45/45 x2

Must be BEER ****ING TIME

Yep I do.
The twin headlight would be why the low wattage. You have two lights & I only have one. I should have twigged when I read the book.

Some models (depending where they were marketed) had a different globe - the American models used a Honda globe which has differently spaced lugs on it and is hellish expensive.
There are a couple of fixes that. The UK bikes ran std car bulbs, not sure about the Oz ones. I wouldn't go too big on the wattage - I went up to 2x60/55 blue halogen globes, and the electrical system handles that just fine, and gives plenty of light.
Yours is a 93 isn't it ? which I think from memory is a K model
93 is an N/P model. K was the 89. Blue has a h/J - 87/88 - for info only.

Bike shop tells me that std issue was 35/35 for this model.
I think that's crap - more like twin 50 or 55W
