Default CBR1000F exhaust???

Hello All,
I have a header I bought off of eBay sold ascoming off ofa 1988 CBR1000F. I've looked at the parts breakdown and spoke to my dealer. This header has perches for springsto mount a slip-on pipe. The OEM header doesn't use springs.I am hope one of you good folks know what it is.

That's a Vance & Hines 4to1.

You might be able to buy just the can and mid-pipe, if that's what you're looking for.

The oem header looks like this. (non-stock cans)

a few leftovers from my parts shelf.
If you need the header, I'll give it to you for the cost to ship.
It's in a V&H box, probably oversized for shippingso figure ~$30-50?? to VA

Sorry - not a clue what make it is - question is, will it work ?
Yes, probably - You'll need the rest of the piping for it, and the slip on, which may be hard to find (not the can, the intermediate pipe) Probably cost more to make than buying the headers, which are especially ugly and restrictive IMHO.
Sorry I can't be of more help - maybe a Nexxus system ?

Hello,
Thanks, actually I'm installing it on a CB1000F. There aren't any manufacturers making a full system for this limited model and since it shares the engine with CBR1000F I'm putting pieces together to see what I can come up with.
Thanks again, I'll check with V&H to see if they stillhave a mid pipe available.

Hello Weekender,
The CB1000F uses double shocks.

http://i519.photobucket.com/albums/u...786desktop.jpg

I haven'tmounted these header on the bike yet. I did hold them up to it and everything looks to line-up properly.

They have a OEM feel, buthave a little better weld quality than what I havepreviously seen from Honda. Also this set is old and the chromeis gone and they are single wall pipe with spring retension hooks. The outside diameter of the collector pipe is 2-1/8".

Any input is appreciated.

Thanks,

Thats a good looking bike, i am not shore if we get them hear. It looks like you have a centre stand whitch you might need to remove to fit that exhaust. I have just made a standed set of 4 into 2 to 4 into 1 2-1/8 outlet up to a can with a 2inch outlet. I drilled around 2003/16 holes in the 2-1/8 pipe through the can packed it with fiberglass and reduced the outlet to2 inch . It is not to loud and does not drone. I tested thepipe on a 600k trip two up with around 30kg of gear on the rackand it worked good, noproblems in all revs. It was its best on a overtake doing 4000 in top and kicking back two and run out to the rev limt (100k to 200k). This is the pipe i made for my track bike. I am do the next onefor the the road bike with twins, i thing thay look better but maby smaller outlet 1-3/4, I will try 2 to start with. It is hard to get the right note from the exhaust but some times it just happens. I dont think by and try, Build and change works better.

TheCB1000F was only imported to the US market for 94'-95"' and was never very popular here, but I have been told they were big in Europe and Australia. I have the one pictured in the US and another 93' CB1000F(JDM) in the Philippines. The one in the Philippines has been crashed and I'm getting parts together for its rebuild. My plan is to do my modson the US bike and then ship the pieces to the other bike. I'm currently working on the exhaust and mounting CBR carburetors. Actuallyrecieved the rubber insulators last night. The CB uses a detuned CBR engine so the CBR makes a good sorce for upgraded parts forthe CB. Next will be a cam change. IMHO, these are great bikes that have been seriously overlooked.

Nice pic, over here its just a CB1000 (Project Big One) ,thats a pic of the exact same bike i was gona buy but the money i had was just a but short and the dealer who had it wouldnt back down, the only differance was the cams between the CBR and theCB thats all they did to detune it , as the dealer put it at honda" with the CBR if u twist the throttle in a bend thebikecan kick out and end up in a ditch with the CB u wont " and those were the exact words he used to describe the differance, and if i was to buy another bike that would still be theone i would buy IF i could find a nice 1 for sale ?
