Newbie here,

(Just posted and gone missing so I'll try again!)

I've a 1000FP (93) engine in a kitcar (Don't let that put you off replying)

I need to replace the float chamber gaskets after stripping the carbs down, now they're leaking out of the bottom chamber screws.

I've been quoted by 3 Honda dealers here in the UK that I need 4 gasket kits @ £30 each = £120 to do the complete carbs)

US prices are the same. - (same float chamber on the Hurricane cousin)

I don't know if they're all reading the microfiche wrong, and the gasket set does all four carbs?

Ideally I'd like one of them to physically look at a pack to check - but none have them in stock.

Bikebandit.com have quoted me 62USD for shipping only to the UK - didn't give a price on parts, but I guess they thought I would be bothering!


Has anyone purchased the kit? can you confirm I need four of them?

If so I'll need to re mortgage the bloody house!

When I replaced mine on the 90 model I had to buy the gaskets individually, and back then they were 12 pounds each, about four years back.........
You could make them up out of o-ring material, the shape isn't a major problem.........
contact wemoto or davidsilverspares in the UK - they are very helpful.I got mine from davidsilverspares.

each kit contains

float bowl gasket, idle adjustment screw o-rings, air funnel plate gasket, o-ring seals for the valve starter cover and float bowl drain screw o-ring
