Yeah i agree with R1000 about the R/R had that go out on me and i did replace it with a 2000 yamaha R1 ill get the stock number for you and leave it on this forum but i would also check your compression i noticed with mine after i got her back up and running she would die out and we all thought it was the carbs. Nope i just got done testing the compression on her and shes low on 1 and 4 of the pistons so now i have to see if the rings are just bad or if i need to get her boored ou. But this was causeing my bike to die out this time and bogg funny while driving (even at a little loss of compression she will run but it hurts her to) but thats my issue but hey, its always good to check compression every so offten just to nip anything in the *** befor it gets to worst.

^^^ thanks for the info.
I have a RR in the mail. Is there an easy way to check compression without paying for wrench time?
When I replaced my plugs about 1k ago, they looked amazing, the best I've ever seen.
Any links/parts need for the compression test?

Be careful to connect the new R/R right before the battery is re-connected. The battery should be disconnected while you are working on the R/R installation. There are quite good pictures on the link I gave, so you can see and read where the plus and ground cable are conncted. If I remember rigth the guy descibes the connecion from another view than is is on the pictures, but you may have seen that already.

This will sound crazy and is a bit left of field. How's your oil level? I had an XR250 once that when the oil level got low the bike would cut out and do exactly what yours is.
I went crazy checking all the electrics. In a moment of complete, what the "ford truck" should I do now, I checked the oil level filled it up started the bike and had no more trouble.
You have to be careful though, dont tell anyone. That happened 12 years ago and my mates still hang s**t on me. Needless to say every bike I've had since I've worn down the threads on the dipstick! That reminds me I better go and check that oil level now.

Uh.... So I got the new RR in the mail... I go out to my bike and find this...
I have 6 wires(wtf mate?) and I don't wanna *omit* one, they all seem pretty usefull, check out the diagrams from the 1993 manual I have.
