I just recently purchased a 1988 Hurricane 1000 that is in just incredible condition. However a previous owner has cut the centers out of the rears of each muffler.
I did some searching and found a photo of this modification, however I actually want to make mine back to stock. I can fabricate and weld extremely well, I restore vehicles as a hobby often.
What I actually need to know is, when you remove the center of the end, the tube that is in the center or the actual exit pipe, it appears to go into one of three chambers a few inches inside the muffler. Which one does it go in? If I had to guess, it would be the top hole, as its different from the lower two on each side if I remember correctly.
My mufflers are in excellent conditon and extremely shiny still, any ones I see on ebay that are complete are either rashed or repainted, I would rather repair mine as its an easy fab and weld project to remake the ends.
