Chit that is SO !!!! TRUE !! LOLOL
Personally , I tend to go along with a few of the guys and think that a GOOD TIG welder guy could fix the old engine ....as was said , I have seen some bloody miracles performed by good welders over the years ....
but ..........
Johno .... if the new motor swap is under 1500 ....I would do it in a flash rather than **** about parting her out mate ...
Keep the engine and swap the misses out is my advice ...LOLOL (don t tell yu misses I said that though )
Trashing a good bike is and has always been my last resort !!!!
good luck no matter what you decide to do

All,
After a few days of going this way (part bike) and that way (fix bike) I have decided to keep the girl and put her back together.
With the help of an valuable member (nagai Thai), he located a wrecked bike of about 93 vintage. The engine looks from the photo's to be in excellent condition, plus i get the frame, electrics, switch gear, radiator, oil cooler, carbies and other goodies.
The small drawback, is that it is a 1500Km drive (return) to pick it up, but I supose a small price to pay.
In a few weeks i will have a parts list from the bits i do not need so keep an eye out if you are interested.
Great place this forum, good bunch of people, you have really lifted my spirit, thanks.

The sale consists of just about a whole bike except the wheels fairings and dash.
I do get the front fender and petrol tank
the whole lot $700.00
Not a bad price
Just as a comparison wreckers in melbourne had 2 x 1988 engines at $800.00 for a swap over. A wrecker in sydney had a early 90 engine at $800.00. And a wrecker in adelaide had a 1995 for $1500.00
So i think i got a good deal
And yeah kept the misses
