I bought a brand new factory tank for my bike. My other tank was in decent shape, but what a difference! While replacing the tank I found the old gas the be a little on the grey side and there was some crap stuck in the petcock fuel filter. After putting on the new tank with clean fuel filter, it seems to be running better and seems like better mileage (could be my imagination, haven't gone through a whole tank to measure mpg). So just a thought, if you haven't drained the tank and checked your inside fuel filter, might be a worth a look.

 

If you don't mind me asking, what was a new tank worth? Did you buy it colour matched or get it painted yourself?

 

Factory paint and stickers, paid 300 usd with shipping. Service honda has them for 400 plus shipping

 

Thanks for the info. My clear coat is blistered and peeling off in one spot. Sometime I'd like to get it sorted, but I want it to look dead set factory, not fixed up. Big bucks either way..

Ha you guys in oz do get ripped off with parts prices don't you? Ive noticed this with a lot of the things you get on here. I thought it was bad enough here but thats taking it to the max. Harry and I were talking about it last night at the cafe, as he has lived in both oz and here and he was saying the same. How do you guys manage to run your toys and feed yourselves?
