Default battery dieing after 5 min ride

This bike is driving my father and I nuts. and we are about to just get rid of it.

The bike's battery died last year while riding so we changed the regulator and the battery (over 4 years old), still had the issue. We had the charging tested at two different shops and they said everything is fine with the charging.

One day I looked and saw the starter solenoid connector was burnt out. I figured maybe there is a short that caused this. Bought a new harness and solenoid, took it around the block on a fully charged battery. when I got back home the problem still persists, slow wind til stop.

I am stuck bc on a freshly charged battery, starts right up. Thinking we should just get rid of it. we spent so much money into it changing fork seals, new tires, brakes, spark plugs, valve adjustment, clean carbs, regulator, harness, battery, starter switch, solenoid, checking charging, stress test on the alternator.

My uncle thinks its the starter.

Any help please please please!!

Have you tracked back from the battery with a volt meter yet?
Does your R/R show signs of heat trauma? (melting or brownish connectors)

The first thing you need to do is test your charging system. The easiest way to do this is by using a digital multimeter with the setting set on AC Volts, start the bike and connect the meter to the battery, the meter should read between 13-15 volts AC. rev motor a little and watch meter to see if volts go up it should. If the volts rise then your charging system is functioning properly. If the volts are less than 12 volts then you may need to take the bike to a shop to have further testing done by a mechanic to see if it is the stator or regulator/rectifier.

Before you ask questions make sure we all know were you are, what year your bike is, model etc. That's a basic requirement unless you want wild guesses to console your frustration.
Go to your user CP and get your details sorted.
I'm sure this can be diagnosed, patience...patience.
Take a deep breath and start again.
I have a....... model..... year.....

Could be the starter damper..................
Plenty of history posts on this - sounds like the battery is dead, bike turns over slowly......
Could also be the stator but not over such a short distance.
My bet would be the damper is slipping........

Wow, consider yourself Told.

Standard rules apply, send it to me, I will take it to the local recycle center and get rid of it for you.

A carport will do, just stack them up there till I have time to have a look at them.

Maybe I could be the "Crazy CBR Guy"?

Just like Mission Control is turning into "The Crazy Cat Lady"

$500 feckin kitten, mutter, mutter, mutter etc.
