Hey there cbrentb...that's exsactly what she reads...she just keeps doing that annoying sputtering and dying out...I have a feeling that it's either one of the coils or the cdi box. There's no other logical explanation b/c she's only doing it after I ride for some time. If it was a carb issue of it being starved i would have found it but she's getting good fuel and the lines aren't clogged up... It's baffling...

Hello guys...Have an update of my situation...We checked the bike today and she started right up. Put a meter to the battery and as long as I had her reved up she would measuregood voltage(13.9/14.7v) But once she was at idle she would read low(12.5/12.6v) and drop voltage gradually (We read 12.2/11.9v) So we checked the omns, after disconnecting all wires and she measured good, but once we measured the wires for the alternator "winding" she was not up to spec. Now, the person who did it is a friend who has his own shop, deals with a lot of older bikes and was a teacher at the MechTech college here. Now, I think he said the the "rotor" was bad? Did I get it right? I'm not too familiar with this so I need some imput. The whole thing needs to be replaced 'cause they're together right? One is going bad and the other one is still trying to "work" correctly but not enough, so my battery keeps getting drained after riding for a little while and therefore the loss of current to one of my coils and eventually to both and she dies on me. Leave it alone for a while and she starts right up but with the "sputtering" issue of only enough power for one coil. Any input is appreciated. Saw somewhere on the forum about remaned "stators"... Is that what I need, the whole thing? Is there something else? Thanks for the help guys!!!!!
