Default bad ride day

Went on ride since the weather decided to warm up. Checked all fluids and tire pressure. Wasn't gone more than 10 minutes when the motor started to make a knocking noise that I haven't heard before. Shut off the bike and called my wifeto bring truck . got bike home and started it back up to inspect what the problem. Think motor threw a rod, but won't know until I get it torn down tommorow.

Ow, doesn't sound like a fun fix... Hopefully it just blew a plug or something simple.

was hoping that would be something simple ,but during the inspection'I turned the motor over with plug wires remove and motor temporarly locked up. which leads me to believe the damage is far worse.

Ouch! Look on the bright side. At least it didn't lock up while you were on the bike. Could have been nasty. Did you go out & buy a lottery ticket?

found problem apon teardown cct faile and parts fell into the crank assemblie causing cam chain to loosen eventually breaking later. (reason motor locked up ) have not split the case yet to see if any other damage has occured. plan on going though whole motor and possible big bore and other performance upgrades. cause it was fun to mess with friend on newer sport bikes.

Hey while you have it tore down let me BORROW your plastics !

I promise to return them when I'm DONE ......

Hate to hear that vulcanman, but at least you got the other bike to ride...
Since we met on the way back from BBB, I haven't been able to ride, seems I ran all the
rubber off the rear steel belts, just got it replaced last week with a new Bridgestone, and
have beenriding to work at night in the nice temps this week.

Love the 2 wheels !

Did you replace the split pins when changing your CCT?
