Default Bad fuel

Picked up a tank of fuel from one of my normal places. Never had a problem till now. Bike started to run rough almost immediately. I found I had picked up a load of rust & water. Gone through the entire system. Cleaned carbs. flushed tank, filters & petcock. Ran great for about two minutes. Giving it a second clean today. Noticed that the inline filter is very coarse!! I'll see if I can pick up a better one on my way to work. [:'(]ho hum. That's life I suppose.

Is the filter inside the tank or located in the petcock?

Strainer as part of the petcock. Inline (filter) prior to the fuel pump. Inline filter is the one that is surprisingly coarse.

This just shows that even reputable large petrol stations can give a poor product. I've stripped & cleaned the carbs. Carbie cleaner & compressed air. Flushed the tank & hoses. Cleaned the petcock & strainer. Re assembled. Fresh fuel & bled it all before filling the carbies. Flushed the float bowls. Now it's rough. Even after resetting & synchronizing everything. I think a good run is now needed.

It's now responsive enough just idles rough. First I'll look at pilot air then I'll move on.
