Default bad engine knock and stalling....help please

Ok here is a little background first...this is a project bike I have been working on...when I bought it ran ok...now it hasnt been started for about a year....I just recently put a rebuilt set of carbs on it...changed all the fluids...replaced the plugs...finally got everthing back on that needed to be to start it up...when I go to start it, it will start up with the choke fully on...idle at around 1000rpm for a couple seconds and then stall out...now the whole time it is running it knocks loudly and a couple times when it stalled it made a louder knock right when it stalled...I only tried a couple times because I didnt want to do any damage..or any more damage than was already done...if anyone has any ideas i would appreciate it...thanks

Bad fuel? Cams out of time? If it ran fine before it must be something simple or possibly the carbs not set up correctly.

If the only thing that was different since it ran ok was the plugs and carbs, put the old plugs back in and check, if still not ok check the carbs.

If it knocks when 1st starting especially when cold or at idle it is usually the carb balance.

alright so I switched the old carbs back on (cleaned them first), and got it to stay running,it still had a slight knock but it wasnt as bad...it stayed running without any choke and I got it to come up to temperature...now once it got warmed up I gave it a couple light revs and it seemed ok the knock increased with the revs...actually I would call it more of a rattle than a knock and I seemed to be coming from the bottom part of the engine...im going to borrow a camera to make a video then post it so that everyone has a better idea of what im looking at...thanks again

knock or rattle from low in front, checkthe balancer adjustment on the lower right.

Took most of my rattle out, but don't tighten too much it starts to whine like a gear drive.

Looking for a knock or rattle can be a right pain. With the engine running, and using a large screwdriver place one end on the engine and the other to your ear. Move around the engine until you have located where the knock is noisiest and note the position. Noise in any engine can be in a different position from where you thought it was as sound travels. If you take the plugs out and issolate the HT leads then turn the engine over you will minimize noise. Post how you get on. All the best.
