Default Aftermarket Downpipes?Help!

Hi all you 1000F riders! I would appriciate your help...I'm based in the UK and am trying to obtain a set of 4 into 1 downpipes (preferably stainless steel) for my 1995 CBR1000FS....but it's proving tough..[:@] I know aftermarket stuff for these bikes is limited but it was a mass produced japanese motorcycle..(or was it!) The bike had non standard downpipes with a vfr750 genuine silencer welded to them when i bought it and they are now starting to rot and theres a few holes as well.I have hacked the vfr can off and have since fitted a Art can off an R1.If i wanted a 4 into 2 system (like standard) i'd have no probs as Motad do stainless 4 into 2 replacements but i want to keep just the one can as it saves a little weight over having two steel ones.I've seen on ebay that Vance and Hines and Two Bros do downpipes for these bikes but don't really want to have to ship an exhaust from America if i can help it.I emailed Micron recently and they have stopped producing downpipes for the CBR1000 now...The only other companys i know that do a 4 into 1 are Remus and Laser but i can't find a UK retailer for Laser and a Remus 4 into 1 is £460..[sm=jawdrop.gif] I've even thought of other downpipes eg: from an older fireblade (but no sure they would fit?)or maybe a cbr600 (or would the header pipes be too thin?)

Thanks in advance,CBR_LOVER

Hiya mate,
I had the same problem! In the end I fitted the REMUS full system. It really is much better quality than the LAZER system.
It also gives very impressive power gains without rejetting!!!
Other than that you could try a company in Bradford called ZORSTEC,they build some of the best custom systems I`ve ever seen.
APEX LEISURE sell REMUS full systems for the CBR1000f for £410.
I hope this helps

Cheers,Simonchell - it's looking likely that i will be going for a Remus system....I hate the fact that these bikes are not catered for better..[:@]
Theres hardly anything on ebay for 'em - ah well at least if i go for a stainless steel system it should outlast the bike - i think it's worth doing for a bike thats only done 30.000 miles!
gotta be better than going and getting a standard system with the twin silencers that weigh a ton.....mind you there must be a reason that Honda made them with twin silencers in the first place - am i right in thinking that they make more mid-range power with the 4 into 2 setup?

anyways thanks for your help!

Actually I found there`s a considerable increase in the midrange!
You`ll notice it will pull much better everywhere, extra power plus much less weight=much more fun!!![sm=happy046.gif]
I think Honda probably fitted the twins to even out the bikes balance, but I honestly couldn`t tell any difference in my bikes balance.
For such a popular bike it`s a bit odd they aren`t catered for better!
Frustrating innit?[sm=headbang.gif]

hey:
I think they fitted 2 cans for Jap, American, and Euro noise and emissions, as they did it with the Blackbird too. Also I think Honda engineers
are into that symetry and balance look, as they even do it on the VFRs. Also if you can locate a proper CBR 1kf header pipe and just put a
bung in the one side and run an aftermarket can (Micron, V&H, Motad, Yosh or Blue flame) in the other as some slip on kits came that way,
when these bikes were all the rage in the early 90s.

You should be able to locate distributors for Laser 4-2-1 downpipes on their web page. I did and recently ordered the parts from Germany.

Definitely the remus!
If your still unsure you could contact TTS,they carry out all kinds of mods for the CBR1000 from jet kits to big bore conversions!
They recommend two systems for out and out power and build quality.YOSHIMURA and REMUS!
