Default 91 cbr1000f-carbs dripping gas

I bought a 91 cbr1000 the other day for $300. It is wrecked in the front. Only the front plastics were damaged in the crash. It sat for about 3 yrs before i got it. It is in overall pretty good shape, and it only has 8,000 miles on it. the motor is very clean as well. I cleaned the carbs, changed the oil and coolant and got it running. It runs pretty good and sounds good, but the carbs drip gas the whole time its running. I have cleaned the carbs a couple times to be sure and they still leak. float bowls, floats and needles are all in good condition, why is it still leaking? Any thoughts?

Unless the carb body or float bowls are cracked, it must be the float needles not sealing or the float level is too high.

the carb bodies and the float bowls are in perfect condition. What is the correct float height for these carbs?

The float needles have a spring in them Mine were gunked close and not springing back. Are yours working correctly?

and i forgot to mention, the gas seems like it's coming from the tops of the float bowls, it's NOT coming out of the overflow tube. my gaskets for my float bowls are fine, why would it be leaking?

I am sure someone will chime in on the float height but I would think that if gas is leaking out of a gasket then the gasket is no good.

IIRC there are small rubber O rings on the plastic elbows that distribute fuel from one carb to the next. They can dry out and let fuel pour out from between the carb bodies. FYI The O ring kit from bike bandit is around $10 so it might be worth a try.
