ok first off hi all im new to the forum but not to riding my name is Dakota. im looking to get my 1000f back looking good but i cant find anywhere that sells the parts i need. i was wondering what years are interchangeable with these bikes i seem to be finding a lot of other years and none for the 91. so my real question is where can i find parts for my bike and which other years will work on my bike. im in need of the 2 bottom pieces of the fairings the middle section of the plastics behind the front wheel. also front wind screen thats it i think any help will greatly be appreciated. happy riding to all

 

Models 89-91/2 are all the same
Parts from other years do fit, like engines, regulators, etc, but not
Brakes
Plastics
Windscreen
Look in the tech section at the top of the page and you'll find the workshop manuals you can download, and the owners manual, and some of the interchangeable parts.
Best option for plastics is either in parted out bikes or e-Bay, or a breaker.

ok thanks. so ill have to find plastics for my year? its rideable i just want to have everything on the bike so it will be "complete" if you know what i mean. you say pics are required you mean of the bike?? if so ill have some up soon as i can take some pics of it

As Shadow said , plastics are interchangeable from1989-1992 , these were the 1000FL and 1000FM I think . Where are you located , I presume US with a name like Dakota , it can help to let us know , so that we can keep an eye out for you

ok colors dont matter they will be getting painted either way. ok here are the numbers 41,20,13,28 and then just a normal wind screen
