'88 CBR1000 Fuel Pump Relay?

My relay took a crap & the wire connector was melted, so I bypassed the relay & jumped the black & brown wires. The bikes runs fine, no probs, but I still have 2 wires from plug taped off, yellow/blue & blue/yellow. I do have a diagram I downloaded, but it doesn't have color codes. I would think a standard Bosch type relay could by used if I knew what the other 2 wires were for. According to the diagram, the wires connect: fuel pump, spark unit, tach, start switch. Can anyone help identify them?

If I leave this jumpered will this cause any other problems?

Not sure of the color codes myself as I have no fuel pump on my 89-90 model

I do know that by passing them on the early ones was not un common apparently and should be fine if shes running ok? ... but do not take my word for it.. LOL

I looked at the wiring diagram and I cant help you for the same reasons ...they are not color coded on my diagram either ..

Om sure one of the guys with an 88 will chime in soon enough ... now that I have bumped the thread for you ..

Hey Pete ..any chance of getting a slightly closer up pic of that mate? ...

I tried blowing that one up for our mate to be able to read the colors and it distorts to bad to read mate ..
