88' Bored and turbo'd 1000 hurricane
hey guys just got a new project bike, the guy i got it off of bored and put a turbo on it.it has burnt valves so im taking the engine apart and fixing it up.
this bike is basically a mix of cbr ans gsxr
it has a complete 97 gsxr front end with inverted forks it has a 95 cbr rear rim and it has a gsxr tail section
the bike needs work, its going to take some time to clean it up an make it look good
before it burnt the valves on cylinder 4 he had done i dyno run wit it an it was push 172hp, but it has room for improvement as it flattens out because the turbo isn't able to push anymore air in due to the configuration he has setup for the intake and exhaust on the bike...ill get a few pics up shortly

172 at 12 psi plus it wants to push more but to due to the design of the exhaust manifold an design of the "air box" its causing turbulence so im going to redesign them make them flow better then put factory pro jet kit in so i can adjust the needle height in it to fix the slight flat spot it has

Yer ..fair enough ..
Looks like a home made kit from the pics..
I recon a re manufactured exhaust manifold at some stage might help her breath a little easier too...
Inlet manifolds can be a bit rough , but the exhaust I think still needs to be as even sweeping and smooth to get the most out of them..
The kits tend to still use tuned length exhausts for good even balance..
To give you an idea of what I mean ..this one was one of mine from many years ago ...I bought it from ATP "American Turbo Pack "
They put allot of effort into keeping the pipe work even and as smooth as possible ..
Yours has some wicked plumbing on her though ..
What a ripper setup mate ...she is evil ...LOL
Here's a great pic of Mr Turbos designs, similar to the setup you are using , but with pipes tuned length.. might give you a few ideas for one day when you have the time or inclination to improve yours ... :-)
