Default 87 cane, 1st to 2nd

when the revs are really up in first gear(9000to10500) the bike sometimes misses the shift to second, mabye the bike mabye the operator, but after the shift is missed i almost have to stop to get it into second, otherwise it just grinds. is this a normal problem on the older canes or is it a specific problem with this bike? and if so what might that problem be? thanks my fellow cane enthusiast

It shouldn't do that, though I rarely rev my bike that high. Try checking your fluid level in the clutch reservoir- if it's low it can make shifting difficult.

+1 Pacojoseph
Two other things come to mind :
1 When did you last do an oil change on the bike ?
2 May be some wear in the selector shaft or dogs.......?
CBR's do have "lumpy" gearboxes, perhaps you need to be a bit more positive with your gearshift.
I've had it happen twice, and it was due to my not tapping the shifter forcefully enough - hard to describe but you can sometimes hit neutral and then it'll grind if you try to bash it in while it's still moving.[X(]

yeah its not really a force problem, always go for a good solid shift, sometimes it just doesnt complete the full shift, a few times even at lower rpms, clutch fluid is all good, checked this morning.
