Default 87 1000F jetting

Good day to all, and a question... My 87 1000F now has a Yosh aftermarket 4-1 exhaust and a K&N filter...I get a little bit of hangup when I'm shifting- pull in the clutch at say 5500rpm and the revs stay there for a couple seconds before is revs down, sometimes slowly revving down. Too lean in the needle jet? What are the recommended settings for needle spacers, mains etc. For this upgrade? Answers? Thank you for all your help!

Hey:

If you have not done this already, do yourself a favor and run a can or 2 of seafoam thru your bike, before you make any adjustments on your carbs. After that is done and it does not help you may have a sticking slide, float or dirty petcock filter inside tank. Run the bike on res only and see if it still does this. It may need the carbs cleaned out before making adj to the main jet (go up one or two sizes larger than stock) but you need to do plug readings to get this correct. But first you need a properly running bike with new/good plugs to do this. I hope this helps.
