Good luck in your quest Shadow. I rode a friend's ZX12R which had a gear indicator and it was not exactly accurate, often getting "stuck" before coming to a decision over what gear the bike was in. Your light idea sounds better.

Funny enough we stopped a woman driving her car a few weeks back. Her **** Nav was immediately infront of her face and she was literally following the screen! Unfortunately for her there was no R1200RT-born Flogger on her stupid screen!

Nah just **** stirring, but to be honest I can just tell straight away by the feel of the acceleration and the RPM V's Speed that I am in 6th. But I ran for over a year with the Speedo not working just using RPM"S so I guess I got used to it. Also I just tend to ride by feel so if I need more acceleration I drop down a gear etc.

But if there is any doubt a bit of pressure on the lever is all I need as the lever feels very different in 6th than 5th.

Well, LED gear have just replied to my e-mail, saying they don't make a switch for the Hondas as the neutral switch is a "pin type" ( whatever that means) and they can't replace it with an LED switch, so it's back to square one.......Maybe just put red dots on the rev counter........., or learn to count, as Trips says.
Ah, well, back to the Playstation, JB........or buy an FJR........[:@] rather walk, thanks.........

Sorry, don't understand the significance of FJR1300A, TBT,apart from it being a fairly good Yamaha with a 5 speed box. Your levity is lost on me this time.
I forgot the "E" as in FJR1300AE (automaitc shift).

Sorry!
Sorry for the mistake and sorry for the bashing.

there is one way you ca count with out actually counting...
ive noticed on my 88 that at about 6th gear doing 65 mph is 4k rpms...jsut kidna run it from there...
just do a common number when you hit 6th...i dont think about what gear i am, i just look down at the rpms and it registers without me actaully thinking about it.
