There are a few here with the Blackbird nose but I don't believe any are '87.
Search for that.

I've got to admit Patrick I'm a purist. When someone on the CBR XX site put 12 inch bar risers on his Blackbird that was enough for me. He thought they looked great but I've never seen anything more ridiculous on a bike than those. I appreciate your a fabricator and like to produce things for your bike but wouldnt it be a whole lot easier for you to just go to airtech and get what you can form there and troll fleabay for the rest ? As I said I'm not criticising your flair for fabrication at all. Just thinking about the language that will come from your garage when you are scratching your head on how the 600 RR fairings will fit....lol. All the best with whatever you do though. Cheers.

Patrick. I just found this on Fleabay here. This thing looks like it has a nose cone on it still.

I just think that you don't like to hear what we're trying to tell you.
The 600 fairings will be too narrow for the Hurricane, and will require extensive modification especially around the windscreen area.
You'd be better off refitting/ repairing the originals or replacement your damaged units with replacement original fairings. Anything else will be a load of work and may not work. A Blackbird set MAY work, it was done to a later model by a Scandinavian member about two years ago. I think his bike was a mk2 or 3 though, not a Mk 1 - the location points are very different.
Repairing your fairings isn't that difficult really, I did it to a GPZ900R with really smashed fairings with holes, pieces broken off them etc etc. Took time but came out looking as good as when it left the factory............
At the end of the day, it's your decision................

Question

I think if Patrick can take the 600 plastic and make it work on a 1K. Then he should be able to take the original plastic for the 1K and restore then to like new conditions. Just saying....

Patrick if you could get new plastic for a 600 for 200, How much money will it take to make them fit on the 1K...

Patrick, if you are the fabricator that you say you are, you could take the 1K plastic and make yours a Respol, or a Smoking Joe 'Cane. Haven't seen that done.

By the way I too do not like the tail of the '87.

Flebay here in the states has plastic on there....every once in a while

haha no its not like i dont like what you guys have to say i also asked if there is any other swaps that are more do able. like say 1000rr fairings

i just want the bike to look good and honestly i dont like the look of my 87 at all. brand new fairings that are original in my opinion would be a waste of money. i look at it as there is a will so there is a way and i have a welder and metal so i will try to make something work at the least i will do a tail swap so i dont have that awful looking blunt tail. i guess if the 600 fairings are too small i will try my luck with 1000 fairings its a project bike i have time so we will see what happens
